My dream home, Haritha Thaara, was built by Vasthukam ten years ago in Kalpetta, Wayanad. I have long admired Sreenivasan’s mud houses and his distinctive architectural style. My collaboration with him began in 2014, driven by my search for a sustainable housing model as part of my professional work and its implementation in Wayanad. Sreenivasan is a down-to-earth and approachable person, which made communication effortless throughout our projects. The sustainable green architecture techniques he practices are both innovative and replicable, and I wholeheartedly recommend his expertise and creativity—especially in today’s context of climate change and its growing challenges.

Our dream house! Vasthukam built our house in Calicut 20 years ago and since then our relationship with Vasthukam thrived. Couple of our friends also got inspired by the uniqueness of our house and got constructed their houses by Vasthukam. If you're planning to build a traditional house close to mother nature, utilising locally available materials with minimum carbon footprint, you can approach Vasthukam. The chief Architect Mr. Sreenivasan is a widely recognised personality in the area of eco-friendly construction, specifically using mud. In this time of Climate change, his ideas and construction techniques are becoming more relevant and valuable.

I am a retired Chief Engineer. I used to critically review the projects of Vasthukam. These are perfect blend of tradition, nature and beauty. The spaces created are too intimate and lovely. As far as I know, they adhere to the principle of optimum use of resources and it's conservation. Obviously the labourers need to be specially skilled and a bit more expensive. However the saving in material cost will compensate the higher labour cost.

I had and still have an excellent relationship with Vasthukam and its MD, Mr. Sreenivasan. My experience with them has been extremely good and they built one of my dream house on the bank of a river ; from the stage of designing to the execution of the contract to my satisfaction. This is a large house built with stone and mud with excellent interior finishing. Subsequently I also have given them another project which is under final stage of construction. I could not believe the two previous comments and am surprised; whether they are talking about Vasthukam . I have only good things to talk about Vasthukam or Mr. Sreenivasan . I wish them continued success.

My house was constructed by Vasthukam under Sreenivasan 16 years back using laterite stone and mud. I was attracted by Sreenivasan's commitment to environment and his efforts at using environment friendly materials in building houses. My house not only looked unique and attractive, it was also as strong as any conventionally build house. I can say this 16 years down the line. Now I have engaged Vasthukam and Sreenivasan to build the first floor of the house. Also, I can attest for Vasthukam's (and Sreenivasan's) transparent and fair dealings on all aspects relating to house construction. I recommend Vasthukam to anyone thinking of constructing his/her dream home.

My pursuit of building an eco-friendly, traditional house at my farm was well fulfilled by Vasthugam. Thanks to its wonderful staff and engineers ( under the leadership of Srinivasan )to help complete my house well within the time promised. I recently collaborated with Mr. Srinivasan and his team for the construction of our mud house, incorporating sustainable living solutions. Despite some negative comments about their financial approach, I observed no evidence of such behavior. Mr. Srinivasan, the principal architect, fully embraces a life of simplicity and a profound love for nature. It's individuals with such a spirit who can craft sustainable living solutions and create masterpieces from mud. After discovering them on YouTube, we visited their project in Pondicherry, Adisakthi. My 12-year-old daughter was instantly drawn to the concept, and we decided to build a similar house in our village, Rasipuram. Our requirements were modest: an elevated veranda for outdoor sleeping and a design that embraced nature. The construction process during the challenging COVID times took nearly two years due to sourcing labor from Kerala. While the project was not low-cost, the unique feel of the house is unparalleled. Our electric supervisor wisely remarked that building a conventional home might be easier, but the connection this house fosters with nature is incomparable. It's crucial to acknowledge that this endeavor demands skilled labor, patience, and financial commitment, but the result is an unexplainable, unparalleled living experience.
