The Madras Kali Temple is a peaceful and well-maintained temple with a calm spiritual atmosphere. The premises are clean and properly organized. Arrangements for darshan and prayers are smooth and the environment remains devotional throughout the day. The temple management handles the crowd well, even during busy hours. The dharmashala connected to the temple is simple and convenient. The rooms are clean, comfortable and well-maintained. The surroundings are quiet, making it suitable for families and devotees. The staffs are cooperative and maintains the place properly. Overall, it is a good place for a peaceful visit and a comfortable stay.

Madras Kali Bari is a peaceful and beautifully maintained temple. The Bengali-style rituals and serene atmosphere make it a special place to visit. The staff and volunteers were polite and helpful, and the ambience overall felt welcoming. Parking is limited — two-wheelers are easier to manage than cars — so arrive a little early if you drive in. I visited during a regular day, and it wasn’t overly crowded, which added to the sense of peace. Perfect for quiet prayer and reflection. Jai Maa Kali! 🙏

A peaceful and well-maintained temple dedicated to Goddess Kali, established in 1981. Located in a busy part of Chennai, it still manages to offer a calm, spiritual atmosphere. The temple also has shrines for Lord Ganapati and Lord Shiva, making it a welcoming space for devotees of multiple deities. The best time to visit is during Durga Puja, when the temple comes alive with soulful prayers and festive energy. We also got to witness some beautiful golu displays at the back of the temple area, which added to the festive charm. It is also offered a wonderful opportunity to witness the Bengali community’s rich traditions and cultural spirit in Chennai. A truly serene and enriching experience. Note: In case you are coming to the temple using a car, it is better to park it in adjacent streets and reach the temple, since the access road to the temple is narrow and does not provide any parking space.

A lovable place for people all across (especially Bengalis). We went during the Durga Puja 2025 during Maha Navami. How to reach: we were coming from Nandanam so a metro directly to Ashok Nagar (via Alandur) and then we took an auto since it was the first time (charged around 70 which was okay). You can take a bus to Ashok Pillar and then another bus to Pudur High School (little walking from there). The roads are narrow and wouldn't advise to go by car, bike is good but public transport is the best. Temple architecture: I don't know why I found it quite similar to the Dakshineswar temple in Kolkata (West Bengal) and since I am a Bengali, my heart went out to the architecture. There is a shoe rack available outside. The temple was decorated beautifully during the evening with lights. We took blessings from Maa Durga and Maa Kali as well. Photography of Maa Kali was prohitbited, so we did not break the rules. Then we waited for a while and came back. We walked to Power house bus stop and took a bus to Ashok Pillar (buses for Vadapalani also available). Then we took 570s and came back to our place (Gandhi road). The quality of the public transport makes life a lot easier to reach this place. One can easily spend some good amount of time here. Must visit during the Durga Puja.

No doubt, the most beautiful peaceful temple to exist My favorites 1. Cook wale bhaiye makes best kitchidi 2.ex watchman uncle _ super welcoming in the moring 3. Very kind priests 4. Humble authorities _ especially Tripti mam. But .... Ever since the watchman uncle left, I am sensing some difference. Now there's this wierd guy named Manoj who kinda is the care taker -i don't find it comfortable going to the temple now a days . Temple opens at 5.45 am , this man sleeps right in front until 6.15 am ,its very awkward to see all that . The other women also told me , he asks unwanted questions too .even I though I directly told this man , he's not bothered . I was told that he's not scared of anyone .The peace i used to love is not there now . Also , some of the devotees have disrespected me . Lesson learnt: Dont talk to anyone in the temple ,its very risky , they can play with your trust ,so just mind your business and go.i will miss my morning routine. Its alright JAI MAA.

What a beautiful and peaceful place! I was amazed to see how disciplined and well maintained the place is. Here you can donate , whose chart I have attached below and also you can hire Pandits for your Pujas at home like Griha Pravesh or any other Pujas that you want to do at home. They also serve Khichdi as Prasad after the evening arti! Another thing is, if you are a patient travelling to Chennai for treatment, you can find rooms here at 750 rs per day, where the food is included. But as the number of rooms are limited, book way before!
