I had an extremely disappointing and shocking experience at Royal Gems and Arts in Jaipur. When my friends and I tried to enter their store, the staff explicitly asked us about our nationality and upon learning that we were Indians, they denied us entry. They went so far as to lie, claiming that the store was their "residential home," even though it was clearly operating as a commercial showroom open to tourists (other than Indians ONLY). The behaviour was deeply discriminatory, unethical, and absolutely unacceptable in modern India. It is appalling that an Indian establishment, running its business in our own country, is practicing racial profiling and exclusion against Indians. I strongly urge the Jaipur local authorities and tourism department to look into this matter and take action against such discriminatory practices. Foreign tourists should also be aware that this is not the kind of hospitality India stands for. There are countless other ethical, welcoming stores and artisans in Jaipur who treat all customers — Indian or foreign — with respect and warmth. Please choose to support those instead. Shame on Royal Gems and Arts for this behaviour. India is known for its inclusivity and culture, and actions like these tarnish that image.

A hidden gem in this city. Our team loved this place, the hospitality and the knowledge and expertise of the jewels and Indian heritage, history and craftsmanship was very impressive.
