Tropic of cancer, Ujjain

Wonderful place—truly unique! This is the exact point where the Tropic of Cancer and the Zero Meridian meet. The spot feels incredible. There’s no proper road access yet, so MP Government should definitely look into developing it. For now, you can guide an auto driver to the closest point, and from there, a short walk of about 350 meters along the riverbank is needed. Do plan your visit during the daytime for this wonderful and rare location.

(Visited in January 2026) - Took a Rapido bike from Ujjain Jn Railway Station to Karkraj Mandir, Ujjian, the location of Tropic of Cancer in Ujjain. Unfortunately, could not reach the place as there as no approach road, and it was evening. Wish some steps are taken to improve the road to this place, as it would be a popular tourist place.

The most important place to visit if you are sci-tech-math-astronomy buff It is the place through which equator line(भूमध्य रेखा) passes. It used to be the most important place to do math astronomy research some centuries ago.

According to ancient tradition, this point is considered the center of Indian time and calendar calculations. It is also known as a "no shadow zone" on the summer solstice (around June 21), when the sun is directly overhead. But there is no approach road and the place is in bad condition need to restore.
